Ormiston Maritime Academy (formerly known as Hereford Technology School) is a secondary school with specialist school status as a Technology College. The school is located in Grimsby, North East Lincolnshire, England.
The school has an intake of 1048 students,[1] ages 11 to 16.
In the latest Ofsted report, Hereford Technology School was found to have a larger proportion of students with disabilities/special learning requirements than is found on average nationally. The school has however had a full complement of facilities to be able to deal with these needs as well as a full complement of extended services[2] for students and parents alike for some time. The school gained specialist technology status in 2000. The school moved into a new building in October 2010.[3]
In 2010, the old school building was demolished as a new building was built from 2008-2010 to house the students. The school changed to academy status on August 1st 2011 when it became Ormiston Maritime Academy.
